Meet the PES Kindergarten Team

mona Mona Al-Naji is a kindergarten instructional assistant for the last 9 years. She loves to work with students and has 3 girls of her own. In her spare time she loves to cook.
bajwa Deepti Bajwa is starting her first year teaching Kindergarten here at Providence.  She received her Masters in Elementary Education from George Mason University and has experience teaching in 4th grade and in Kindergarten.  In her free time, she enjoys watching football (go Dallas!), cooking, shopping, and kickboxing.
davidson Jennifer Davidson has been teaching kindergarten for 13 years.  This will be her 7th year at Providence.  Mrs. Davidson is a graduate of the University of Maryland and began her teaching career in  Montgomery County.  After teaching in Maryland and Florida, she was thrilled to move back to  Fairfax County, which is where she was born and raised.   Mrs. Davidson lives in Arlington with her husband and two dogs; Darby and Reiley.  In her free time, she enjoys exercising and cooking.
ferencz Mrs. Ferencz is starting her 14th year in Fairfax County Public Schools.  She works in Special Education, trained in Applied Behavior Analysis methodology.  In her free time, Mrs. Ferencz loves spending time with her five grandchildren, reading, movies, spending time with friends and family.
machen This is Patti Machem's second year as an Instructional Assistant in Kindergarten. Prior to joining Providence,  she was a preschool teacher at Fairfax United Methodist Preschool for 10 years.  Mrs. Machen was born and raised in Richmond, VA and is a graduate of The University of Virginia.  She and her husband have 3 children: a daughter at James Madison University, a daughter at Longwood University and a son at Fairfax High School.  When she's not watching her kids play sports, Mrs. Machen likes to spend her free time with her family at Lake Gaston, NC.  
mcguire Karen McGuire is new to Providence this year, and is excited to join the Kindergarten team as an Instructional Assistant.  She has experience teaching Kindergarten, First and Second grades.  Karen loves children, animals and nature.  In her spare time she enjoys:  spending time with her husband, family and friends, traveling, vacationing at the beach, walking around the lake, swimming, crafts, music and theater.
mek Ellen Mekhagnomdara (Mek) has been teaching kindergarten for the past ten years! She graduated from Longwood University and received her master’s in Social Foundation of Education from University of Virginia. This will be her second year teaching at Providence.  In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and son, Koi cheering for the Redskins and Virginia Tech!  I am looking forward to a fun and exciting year!
ramella Ms. Ramella is starting her tenth year of teaching.   She graduated from American University with a Business degree and earned her Master's in Education at the University of Maryland, College Park.  Ms. Ramella enjoys traveling, reading , and spending time with her friends and family.
radoll Ms. Radoll is new to teaching at Providence, starting in January as an instructional assistant.  She has been a parent at PES for 9 years, volunteering with the PTA, Girls on the Run, and as a Reading Buddy.  Her love of being with PES students brought her to Providence as a substitute and now a full time employee.  Ms. Radoll is married, has 2 children and a chocolate lab.  When she's not watching her kids play soccer, lacrosse, basketball or swim, she's working on her own fitness, getting ready for a running race or a triathlon. 
reeder Mr. Reeder has been teaching in Fairfax County for nine years and is excited to be at Providence ES for his third year.  He has his undergraduate degree in Elementary Education from Lynchburg College and a Masters degree in Special Education from George Mason University.  In his spare time, Mr. Reeder enjoys reading, running the paths of Northern Virginia, and preparing for the arrival of his daughter in December.
sharma Raj Sharma has been an Instructional Assistant in the FECEP Head Start program for the past 17 years.  She has been at Providence for the past 13 years  and before that she was at Oakton ES.  When Mrs. Sharma is not teaching she enjoys cooking and spending time with her three children.
snider This is Kathy Snider's 3rd year as a kindergarten instructional assistant here at Providence.  Prior to that she was a teacher at Fairfax United Methodist Preschool for four years.  Her three children are all FCPS students-- two at Fairfax High School and one at Lanier Middle School. Kathy enjoys reading, the beach and cheering on her children at their many sporting events.
strubhar Leanne Strubhar grew up in St. Petersburg, Florida with her seven brothers and sisters. Everyday was fun and exciting, so naturally she chose teaching as a career. She graduated from the University of Florida (at the end of the twentieth century), and has been joyfully teaching kindergarten ever since. She is married to her college sweetheart. They have four wonderfully inquisitive boys and a mischievous chocolate lab named Liberty. The boys and the puppy take up all their free time, but they wouldn’t have it any other way!
taylor This is Meagan Taylor's first year at Providence, and she is thrilled to be a panther!  She earned her Bachelors in American Studies and her Masters in Elementary Education with a dual endorsement in ESOL at the College of William and Mary.  She has taught in Henrico, Williamsburg-James City County, and Bosnia and Herzogovina.  Besides teaching, she enjoys exploring new places and spending time outdoors, especially with her friends!
tenerilli Candice Tenerelli is in her second year as an instructional assistant here at Providence. She has been very involved with supporting Mosby Woods as a PTA chairperson and volunteer.  She earned her Bachelor’s & Master’s at Virginia Tech. Ms. Tenerelli enjoys spending time with her 2 children and is very excited to be working here at Providence!
westbrook Mrs. Westbrook is beginning her 9th year teaching and her 8th year teaching at Providence. She has taught special education in all elementary grades except for 4th grade. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Therapeutic Recreation from Old Dominion University and her Master’s in Special Education from George Mason University.  She looks forward to a wonderful year of learning with the students.
wick This will be Alison Wickersham's 7th year teaching FECEP Head Start at Providence. She loves working with young children and their families. Outside of school  she enjoys spending time reading, gardening, and traveling with her husband and two young children Richie and Robin.
winokur Evan Winokur graduated from James Madison University (Go Dukes!) and has taught Kindergarten at Providence for 3 years. Evan is so excited to start the year. He is even more excited to help and watch our students learn and grow. Evan is from New Jersey and spends his summers fishing with his father, catching sharks, watching the Phillies with his mother, reading, and learning as much as possible!
