Providence ESOL Program |

|
The ESOL teachers, Mary Campbell, Polly Dredge, Cheryl Mallon, and Jennifer Poe work with over 200 students who speak more than 15 languages other than English. The ESOL services at Providence are provided in a variety of ways. At times the ESOL students leave their classrooms to receive additional intensive Language Arts instruction or to reinforce classroom content and present it at an appropriate level in the ESOL classrooms. The majority of the teaching periods are held in the student's classrooms. During these inclusion periods, the teachers work directly with the students in small groups on classroom assignments. Use of technology and hands-on learning activities facilitate language acquisition as a by product of learning content. |
