The multimedia labs offer opportunities for students to learn to mediate between themselves and their world. Various software is used in order to develop math, science, social studies, and language arts skills. There are two PC labs. They are networked to a color printer and our school server. This allows for seamless connections between the classroom and the labs.
There are now 10 mobile labs that all students have access to here at school. Kindergarten through fourth grade each have 1 mobile laptop cart at the grade level and there are 2 laptop carts at each fifth and sixth grade level.
At Providence, technology integration exists in a student-centered classroom where learning is most important. We provide ongoing teacher and student training, model technology integration, and provide teachers resource time and support in order to create meaningful encounters for all students. The technology resource teacher creates connections and builds knowledge by reviewing annual agendas and curriculum maps. Monthly collaboration with grade-level teams ensure meaningful learning opportunities appropriate for students.
