The science lab at Providence provides all students in grades K-6 with an area designed and focused on scientific investigation.  The computers are just one tool available to students in the lab.   The lab has  microscopes that connect directly to the laptop computers and allow students to not only observe microscopic samples but also to manipulate samples.  Measurement devices are abundantly available for student use.  It is important that students learn not only to be scientific thinkers, but learn how to measure, record and analyze scientific results as well.
