Art Class

Providence Elementary School

Throughout the Elementary Art experience, FCPS provides an Art Program of Studies that encourages each student to gain a greater sense of their world.  Through their Art-making experiences, students also work with a variety of media, strengthening their skill set with each.

The focus at this level is Self.  Each student creates art that requires them to think about different aspects of Self.

The focus at this level is Community.  Each student in Second grade will create a variety of artworks exploring the different aspects of Community, and what it means to be part of a community.

The focus at this level is Time.  Each student in Fourth grade will create artworks exploring Time through a variety of themes.

The focus at this level is Culture.  Each student in Third grade will create a variety of artworks exploring the different Cultures and their influences.

The focus at this level is Family.  Each student in First grade will create a variety of artworks exploring the different aspects of Family.

The focus at this level is Identity.  Each student in Sixth grade will create a variety of artworks exploring the different aspects of Identity and how identity can be influenced by self, family, community, culture, time and the world around us.

The focus at this level is Globalization.  Each student in Fifth grade will create a variety of artworks exploring the overall theme of Globalization.
