The National PTA Reflections Arts Program
Theme: Beauty Is . . .
Students 6th through 8th grade -- ◊ Do you express your creativity through dance, music, story, or poetry? ◊ Do you dream of having your drawings displayed in a special exhibit? ◊ Do you enjoy taking photographs or videotaping your friends?
If so, then participate in the 2009 - 2010 National PTA REFLECTIONS ARTS Program!!!
What Is Reflections?
Reflections is a National PTA program that encourages and recognizes student creativity and artistic expression in visual arts, literature, musical composition, dance choreography, film production, and photography. Reflections Program awards are given at the local (school), council, district, state, and national levels. National award–winning entries are showcased in the PTA Reflections Program gallery at www.pta.org
Join thousands of other students as they create artwork entries based on this year’s theme, “Beauty Is . . .”
Think about the theme. Then select a category:
How does it work?
Entries are grouped for judging by art category. Works of art are judged by arts professionals in the community, focusing on interpretation of the theme "Beauty Is". Entries that receive "Outstanding Interpretation" at each level proceed to the next level, starting with School level, then Fairfax County Council, Northern Virginia District (Fairfax, Falls Church, Arlington, and Alexandria), State, and National levels. However, ALL participants are recognized!
Interested in submitting an entry for this year’s Reflections Arts Program?
Follow this link to download the electronic Reflections Student Entry Form (MS Word document):
à Please use the CWES Reflections Student Entry Form, because it has school information pre-populated at the bottom. The Entry Form file is a fillable MS Word file. The POE school-specific information should be at the bottom of the Entry Form when you use and print the file. Page 2 of the Entry Form file also has some helpful tips on submitting your artwork entry.
à The Entry Form must be typed, and two signed copies must be submitted with each work of art. Please save your Entry Form electronically, in case it is needed for future use.
Dance, Film, Music: Entry Forms in a sheet protector taped to a 9” x 12” envelope holding your entry. Two (2) copies of your CD/DVD. See rules documents for required recording format, file format, and length. Literature: Entry Forms stapled to the back of the manila folder holding your entry. You may also use a sheet protector attached to the back of the manila folder if you like, as long as the entry form can be taken out the open end. Visual Arts, Photography: Entry Forms in a sheet protector taped to the outside of the transparent plastic wrap around the matted work, on the back.
Follow this link to download the general participation rules which apply to ALL entries: General Participation Rules in English: [Rules_General_09-10_Reflections_General_Rules.pdf] General Participation Rules in Spanish: [Rules_General_09-10_Reflections_General_Rules_Spanish.pdf]
