Cell Phone and Electronic Device Policy for Testing 2008
During testing students are asked to leave their cell phones and all other electronic devices at home. If a student brings any of these items to school during the testing window they will need to leave them in their locker. All cell phones and electronic devices that are not left at home or in the locker will be collected before testing by the testing teacher, placed in an envelope with the student's name on the device, and then handed back to the student after testing is completed for that session. If a student is found with any electronic device on them while they are testing or if any cell phone or electronic device goes off during testing the student will have the following consequences:
- An irregularity with the student's name will be filed with the Virginia Department of Education (VDOE) as required by FCPS and VDOE.
- 6th and 7th grade students will be suspended from Field Day and all school events/activities on Friday June 13, 2008.
- 8th grade students will be suspended from school on Friday June 13, 2008, which will result in not being allowed to attend Field Day, the 8th Grade Dance, and all other school events and activities that day.
