Falling for Fabulous Books

Poe Middle School

Grades 6, 7 & 8

October 21st  – November 24th    

Guidelines

  • Read fiction and non-fiction books during the designated time period.
  • Complete a leaf for each book read.
    • YELLOW – 6th grade
    • ORANGE – 7th grade
    • GREEN – 8th grade
    • RED - Teachers
  •  Drop the leaf in the container in the library.  It will be displayed on the FALLING FOR FABULOUS BOOKS reading tree..  You MUST include the following information on the leaf:
    • Your name
    • Team
    • Title of Book
    • Author
    • Your English or Language Arts teacher’s name on the back of the leaf
    • Genre (mystery, poetry, science fiction, fantasy, adventure, realistic fiction, etc.)
    • A short response to the book (Please use black pen ONLY). . .
      • Surprise ending!
      • Perfect book for dog lovers
      • The best adventure book I’ve ever read
      • Recommend for 8th grade students
      • The main character is a lot like me.
      • If you like a good mystery, this book is for you!
      • Interesting middle-school characters
      • Got me hooked from the first chapter
      • Ending was a huge surprise
      • Can’t wait to read the sequel!
      • S-C-A-R-Y!!

 

We will only accept leaves which have been filled in correctly.  If the information on the leaf is not complete, it will be returned to your English or Language Arts teacher.

At the conclusion of the five-week reading period, the leaves will be counted by teams.  The team at each grade level with the highest number of books read will be declared the winner!!
