Poe Middle School Mentoring Program

Every year a small group of teachers, Poe community members and PTA members dedicate part
of their time to get to know one or two or three students at the personal level and take them under
their wings as mentors.  For the school year 2010-11, Poe Middle School is looking for a few good
men and women to serve as mentors.  To volunteer as mentors for our students, one just needs to
have a caring heart to provide a consistent contact with a child.  Mentors meet a half hour to an hour
 once a week during lunch, breakfast or after school for a “hang together” activity like talk, play
games, help with homework, etc.
