Students study world literature; engage in the research process and write a research paper; study media literature and analyze advertisements; write and explore poetry; give oral presentations, senior speeches; and explore the elements of drama |
Reading |
This class offers students an opportunity to improve their reading comprehension skills through basic vocabulary development, word study, and the use of a wide variety of materials and strategies. Also, the class provides remediation to students; there is an emphasis on the Virginia Literacy Test. |

| Lindsay Terragna | Ms. Lindsay Terragna is a proud member of the Pimmit Hills English department. Ms. Terragna holds B.S. in English Education from Boston University, and she is currently enrolled in a Master of Education program at the University of Virginia. Ms. Terragna has been at Pimmit since 2006 and would not want to be anywhere else! In her spare time, she enjoys reading, writing, exercising, and traveling. Ms. Terragna hopes to go back to Seville, Spain, where in 2005 she lived and (tried) to learn Spanish. |
