Guidance & Student Services
The student is the focal point of the Guidance Program. The counselor, as student advocate, seeks to promote total growth and development of the student. Major services offered by the counselor to the student and/or parents include:

Counseling: Individuals and groups on
educational, personal, social, and emotional
needs.

Planning:
Scheduling school programs, career, college, scholarships, and job
placement.

Testing: Administering and interpreting
test results.

Orientation/Interpretation: Of curriculum,
school environment, and activity program.

Records: Interpretation and management of
all student records.

Career
Education: Grade-appropriate career units taught which acquaint
students with career and/or education options, clarify interests and
begin preparation for career entry or for exercising post-high school
educational options.

Mentoring: Matching selected students with
concerned adults who will serve as mentors, implementation of workshops
for learning and/or enhancement of critical learning skills, and
academic tutoring.
