Do you remember the day you started high school? Thoughts of graduation were far from your mind. Plans for your future were not a priority. Time has passed quickly and you are beginning critical years in your lives. You will need to make important decisions that will determine the road you travel after high school. I hope you have already begun to explore your possibilities, asking yourself some important questions. What do you want to do after high school? Do you want to get a job? Do you want to join the military? Do you want to attend a technical or trade school or a community college? Do you want to attend a four year college or university? Now is the time to take action so that your dreams can become a reality.
Time is of the essence, no matter what path you take. Plans must be made ahead of time. Deadlines must be met. I encourage you to utilize all resources so that you can have as much support as necessary to make informed decisions. Speak to your parents. Keep them constantly informed about your progress. Your counselor will meet with you to discuss your plans and help guide you through any process required to achieve your goals. I encourage you to arrange an appointment with Mrs. Kendrick, in the Career Center, to research career and college options. Use this booklet. Choose the information that best meets your needs and use it as a foundation for further exploration.

JUNIOR DUES of thirty dollars ($30) should be paid as soon as possible. Checks should be made out to Oakton High School and brought to the Burgundy Office.
