The Business and Information Technology Program at Fairfax County Public Schools is an extensive and comprehensive program that provides relevant, authentic, and real-life learning experiences. The program focuses on a vigorous and continuous quality education that offers students the opportunities to master the knowledge, applications, and attitudes to succeed in school, in life and in the workplace.

The program adds new dimensions to life-long learning. Curriculum is enriched with technology integration and hands-on experiences that involve higher-level thinking skills. Instructions in current and emerging information technology applications promote problem solving skills and efficient task management. Project-oriented applications enhance student creatively and develop personal responsibility. Authentic simulations develop teamwork, decision-making, and communication skills.

To participate in today's society as prepared citizens, informed consumers and effective workers, Business Education becomes increasingly important for all students.

Students enrolled in the Business and Information Technology program learn up-to-date business skills and techniques needed for employment, college pursuits in the field of business, or preparation for later employment. Students also develop career awareness through exploration and build an understanding of business principles needed to become productive workers, informed consumers, and business leaders.
