My name is Denise Mahalek and I became a teacher at Oakton Elementary School in 2005.  I provide ELL services to many wonderful students here at OES.   My educational background includes a Bachelor’s Degree in Spanish Literature from Wheaton College (Norton, MA) and a Master’s Degree in International Affairs from the University of Pittsburgh’s GSPIA program.  I also received my English as a Second Language (K-12) certification from George Mason University.  I’ve always enjoyed learning Spanish and have lived in Spain.  I am glad to have the opportunity to teach at OES.
