To begin this lesson, you will be divided up into groups of 4. Each person writes 3 diary entries about the whole trip - the route you took, the interesting plants and animals you saw, and the experiences you encountered. Be sure that the things you write about paint a picture, and include plenty of detail. Also draw a map showing your route across the territory. This will be useful to future to future pioneers. Make sure this map is historically accurate and neat. You will have approximately 4 weeks to finish this first part. When you are finished, you will present a play to the rest of your class based on your diary entries.
