School Counseling Program at the Forest

At Newington Forest Elementary School, the school counseling program strives to provide all students with counseling and support services that help students grow academically, personal/socially and develop an interest in career education that encourages students to start thinking about their future.

What services does a School Counselor provide students, parents, teachers, and administrators?

School Counselors collaborate with students, parents, teachers, and administrators to maximize student achievement. We meet with parents, teachers and other involved parties to enhance students learning and healthy development. We are advocates for students and provide developmentally appropriate counseling services that address student needs through the following avenues:

• Individual Counseling
• Small Group Counseling
• Classroom Guidance Lessons
