Mrs. Schroeder was born and raised in Fairfax County.  She grew up going to Fairfax County Public Schools and attended Virginia Tech to get her undergraduate degree.  After working a few years at a bank, Mrs. Schroeder decided she really wanted to be a teacher.  She got her masters degree in Education from Marymount University and became a full-time teacher in one year.  Although she had childhood aspirations to become a vet, Mrs. Schroeder realized that teaching was where she could make the biggest contribution.  She still loves animals and often wows her friends and family with her extensive knowledge.  Second grade is the perfect grade for Mrs. Schroeder to teach because the students are learning so much about all different animals.  During her free time Mrs. Schroeder loves to read, work in the garden, and spend time with her family.
