A graduate of Bryn Mawr College with a bachelor’s degree in History, as a Woodrow Wilson Teaching Fellow, she obtained her Masters of Arts in Teaching from Fairleigh Dickinson University.
Beginning by teaching Social Studies in Secondary School a lifetime ago, Ms. Follansbee changed her endorsement to Elementary Education in 2004 when she joined the faculty at Navy Elementary School.
Informed and inspired by her love of history and the written word, Ms. Follansbee daily enjoys the passage of time from the present into the past. Over the past 28 years in Fairfax County, Ms. Follansbee has raised three children, two dogs, two sheep, seventeen ducks, hydrangeas, tomatoes, and blueberries. In addition to growing things, Ms. Follansbee has a fondness for repairing houses, reading books and cereal boxes, baking bread, making music, sailing Ranger, and playing dominoes with friends.
