Tapir
Characteristics: Tapirs are dark brown with a mane of hair (like a horse) running down their backs. They have snouts (like a pig) that can grab leaves, grass, and branches. They have
short legs and can weigh 600 pounds!
Habitat: Tapirs live in the rainforest, near water or swamps. Many live in South America, especially Brazil.
Diet: Tapirs eat plants, leaves and fruit.
Predators: Tapirs are preyed upon by jaguars and humans
