I have my Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education with a specialization in Special Education from West Virginia University and a Master’s Degree in Learning Disabilities from George Mason University.   I am Nationally Board Certified in the area of Exceptional Needs.  I have been teaching for 21 years all in the area of special education.  I taught my first year of teaching in St. Mary’s County, MD.  This is my 20th year in Fairfax County and my 5th year at Navy.  I chair the Local Screening Committee.    My philosophy I learned from my mentor and principal for 16 years….. “always do what is best for kids.”  I pride myself on taking advantage of opportunities to enhance and improve my teaching and knowledge of current practices.
