Leadership & Resiliency Program

Staff | Career Center | Resources

The Leadership & Resiliency Program is an intensive substance abuse and violence prevention program which offers extra support to students considered “at risk”.  The program helps students identify their strengths and increase their resiliency skills. Overall school performance, as measured by increased grade point average, school attendance, and reduced school-based behavioral incidents, is improved.

Students in the Leadership & Resiliency Program participate in making “Happy Hats” for the children in Fairfax Hospital’s pediatric ward. Mountain View students who participate in this project will deliver the hats directly to the hospitalized children in January, 2006. This community service activity is sponsored by Fairfax County Alcohol & Drug Services Prevention Unit and helps students learn about their strengths through helping others.
