The Science Department believes...

. . .that science should be accessible and fun. An old adage says, "Tell me and I forget, show me and I remember, involve me and I understand." The last part of this statement is the essence of the science department’s philosophy of learning. Science classes at Mountain View are designed for students to personally experience as many science concepts as possible in hands-on labs. Instead of memorizing dozens of facts and definitions, the science teachers strive to create an authentic learning environment, where students arrive at correct conclusions only after grappling with the mysteries of the natural world.
