WANTED! A Few Good Volunteers (77 to be exact)
As
one of those high schools Jay Mathews refers to as “The Hundred Best,” we will
be administering over 1550 Advanced Placement (AP) exams in 24 subjects to over
725 McLean HS students this May. That’s
the good news…the bad news is with a reduced budget and greater staff
responsibilities, not to mention a change in the test window which means AP
exams now overlap with the end-of-year SOL exams, we are in desperate need of
volunteers to supplement our Guidance Staff in proctoring the two weeks of AP
exams.
We
are asking for a commitment of a four-hour shift, either AM or PM during the
weeks of May 7 to May 18 (refer to schedule on the reverse side). We can’t promise excitement, but there will
be coffee and snacks as well as the opportunity for you to enhance the testing
environment not just for your child, but 724 of his or her peers. The oft alluded to phrase, “It takes a
village,” is more than apropos to this opportunity…as our continuing excellence
as a school rests on our collaboration of staff, students and community.
In
choosing your volunteer slot, you may not proctor an exam your child is
taking. We will be providing a 30
minute mandatory proctor training session at a variety of times the week prior
to the test window.
Please
consider volunteering for a four-hour shift, though we would love to have you
for as much time as you are willing and able to give. Contact Mrs. Dabroski, MHS Assessment Coach,

Thank
you for your support.
