VOLUNTEER/COMMUNITY
SERVICE OPPORTUNITIES
Week of 10/15/2007
(New postings for the week are in RED)
Finding
a volunteer opportunity can require a lot of effort, but the benefits can be
worthwhile. Not only can students gain
community service hours, but they can benefit by giving back to the community.
Earn valuable experience and a sense of accomplishment and
satisfaction by VOLUNTEERING. Search out options for summer or year long
volunteer opportunities. While
volunteers provide valuable service to the community, volunteering is also a
great way to test out career options. Volunteering also introduces students to
mentors who may influence college recommendations or scholarship
applications. For the satisfaction that
comes from personally making the world a better place, consult: www.fcps.edu/ss/CareerConnections/student/volunteer.htm
Community service organizations can also be found online through
Google.
