JUNIOR GIRLS AND BOYS: The American Legion Girls and Boys State will take place 6/21-27 at Liberty and Longwood Universities respectively. Students must be U.S. citizens and have an interest in government. Both programs offer training in the positive processes of self-government and good citizenship as practiced in a democratic society. "Citizens" are divided into political parties (they do not reflect the two major political parties in today's system of government). Elections are held to fill city and state positions. Activities include legislative sessions, campaigning, party rallies, debating and voting. Extra curricular activities are also available. Delegates learn by doing. Applications are available in the College Career Center and must be picked up by 3/13.
Sophomore and Junior Parents - The Colleges That Change Lives Program "It's the Journey, Not the Destination: Finding the Right Fit" has been rescheduled for Tuesday evening, March 17 at 7:30 pm in the Auditorium. Please join McLean High School in welcoming Marty O'Connell, executive director of Colleges That Change Lives, in a lively presentation about managing the college search and admission process.
