Pierce Bello teaches English 9 and Pre-IB English 10. He team teaches one class of English 9 with Joe Vargo. Mr. Bello graduated from James Madison University with a Bachelor of Arts in English and a Master of Arts in Teaching. In May, he will graduate from George Mason University with a Master of Arts in English. When Mr. Bello can't be found in his classroom at Marshall, he works as the Graduate Assistant for the Film and Media Studies program at George Mason University and volunteers at the McLean fire department.

Kelly Bresnahan kelly.bresnahan@fcps.edu (703) 714-5489 Kelly Bresnahan teaches English 9-12, World History 2, Foundations of VA/US History, Foundations of English, and Basic Skills.  She is also the head cheerleading coach for the Statesmen.  Miss Bresnahan graduated from Clemson University with a BA in Special Education.  When not at GCM, she can be found working out, reading a book at the beach, catching some serious air on her snowboard, or watching Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy with her adorable kitten, Carson.

Dana Cable teaches Pre-IB English 9, IB English 1, and English 12. She coaches the women's golf team and sponsors the National Honor Society. Ms. Cable received both her bachelor and master degrees from the University of Michigan, where she was an accomplished trumpet player.

An undergraduate and post graduate of James Madison University: GO DUKES! In addition to teaching English, I am also the head varsity boys' basketball coach. This past summer I enjoyed travelling in Scotland and Ireland playing world class golf courses up and down the coast line. I have 2 distinct fears: water and power tools. Not only are they scary as single entitites but together they are a deadly combination.

gibbsKaris Gibbs teaches Pre-IB and regular English 9. She coaches boys varsity tennis in the spring. Mrs. Gibbs graduated from Miami of Ohio with a degree in English Literature and a German minor. She received her teaching credential and Masters in Education from San Francisco State University. She has taught in California, Belgium, and Singapore. She enjoys learning new languages and traveling.

meltonMr. Melton teaches IB English 1 and Journalism 1, and he advises both the Columbian yearbook and Rank & File newspaper. He is endorsed by the Journalism Education Association as a Certified Journalism Educator and Mr. Melton sits on the board of directors for the Virginia Association of Journalism Teachers and Advisers. Mr. Melton received both a BA in English and psychology and a Master of Teaching degree in secondary English education from the University of Virginia.

She graduated from Bryn Mawr with a BA in English and a minor in Mathematics. In addition to her work at Marshall, Mrs. Noone enjoys time with friends and family, traveling to new places, and pursuing educational opportunities.

Wayne Rumsey teaches Pre-IB English and English 11.  Mr. Rumsey graduated from Gettysburg College with a BA in English Literature and Japanese Studies.  This is his first year at Marshall, having previously taught at Kilmer Middle, Great Falls Elementary, and in Japan.  When not teaching (or reading), Mr. Rumsey loves watching and playing baseball.

Born and raised in the suburbs of Chicago, Kate Weber received her Bachelor of Arts in English from Illinois Wesleyan University and her Masters in Education from The George Washington University. She teaches IB English 2 and English 12 and sponsors the Reveille literary magazine.
