Academics

Marshall sutdents consistently excel at school, state, and national assessments. Marshall last year made Adequate Yearly Progress, as defined by state and federal statues, over the previous year's Standards of Learning scores. GCM's SAT scores in 2007 made a statistically significant increase while many other area schools' scores saw only moderate improvement, or even decline.

Marshall's IB program is internationally recognized. The GCM IB program generates more IB diploma graduates than other FCPS IB programs at schools with twice (or more) as many students.

Students from across Fairfax County attend the Marshall Academy, which offers practical, hands-on experience in a variety of disciplines. Many Academy students graduate with professional certifications.

Classes in all departments -- Fine & Performing Arts, Career & Technical Education, English, English for Speakers of Other Languages, Foreign Language, Health & Physical Education, Math, Science, Social Studies, and Special Education -- also make use FCPS' 24/7 Blackboard.com.
