Levels 1 & 2:

The Cosmetology program culminates into industry certification by the Virginia Board of Cosmetology. Students learn both the theory and practical skills necessary to obtain their cosmetology license at the end of their second year.

The program introduces the history and opportunities that the cosmetology industry provides as well as lifeskills, professional image, cosmetology sciences, hair care, nail care, skin care and the business aspect of managing or becoming a salon owner.

In a salon setting, students practice professionalism and skilled techniques on manikins, fellow classmates, school personnel, and the general public. Industry professionals are invited as guest speakers to demonstrate the latest trends and showcase the newest products. Students have the opportunity to be hired by area salon business owners while enrolled in the course and upon graduation.
