Interpreters

The Educational Interpreter facilitates communication for deaf or hard of hearing students in academic and extra curricular activities.

The Total Communication program provides educational opportunities both in and out of the classroom. The TC staff develop and provide a variety of activities for students across grade levels addressing issues such as:

  • Deaf culture (ASL poetry, ABC stories, Deaf jokes, ASL storytelling, ASL drama production.
  • social skills
  • creative and visual arts

Professional Development

  • team discussion/training including: classroom dynamics, professional ethics, skills development, and team building
  • opportunities for work before/after contract hours in a variety of settings

Daily Schedule

  • Interpreters provide communication access to the deaf and hearing students and staff population throughout the school day from 8:30am to 4:00pm
