Computer Lab

All students at Mantua Elementary School come to the Technology Computer Lab for classroom lessons integrating various technologies. The Fairfax County Public Schools Program of Studies and the Virginia Standards of Learning are the framework for curricular lessons in the computer lab. Students can be seen illustrating social studies concepts, practicing math computation, writing stories, creating multi-media presentations of concepts they have studied in science or social studies, or researching topics for reports.

Mantua Elementary School has a 30+ station PC Technology Computer Lab. All computers are connected to the Internet. Classroom lessons are taught with a state-of-the-art SMARTBoard™ allowing lessons to be interactive. A scanner and a color laser printer are also housed in the lab. Classroom teachers bring their classes to the Technology Computer Lab

every other week. Specialists also bring classes to introduce programs such as Music Ace or the Bridges Careers internet site. Staff training is presented in the Technology Computer Lab by the technology specialists as well as other teachers who are "experts" in different areas of technology.
