ESOL Services
English for Speakers of Other Languages

Mantua provides ESOL services for students in grades one through six.  Children who have a home language other than or in addition to English are given a language proficiency screening when they enroll.  They receive proficiency levels ranging from 1 (beginner) to 4 (upper advanced).  Specially trained ESOL teachers work with grade level teams to provide language arts instruction in English, either in small groups or in the general classroom setting.   The students come from all over the world speaking Korean, Spanish, Chinese, Vietnamese, Thai, and Hindi.
