Madison Counselors achieve national award!
In 2011, Madison High School’s counseling dept. received the “RAMP” designation, which is short for Recognized ASCA Model Program. It is similar to national board certification for teachers, yet unlike a teacher’s board certification, this recognition is only achieved through the efforts of a collaborative learning team working together with a common mission and vision and engaging in a process of continuous improvement. Madison is one of only 350 schools in the entire United States (out of 37,000 high schools) that has achieved this recognition. Our parent organization, the American School Counselor Association (ASCA), is the foundation that expands the image and influence of professional school counselors through advocacy, leadership, collaboration and systemic change. ASCA empowers professional school counselors with the knowledge, skills, linkages and resources to promote student success in the school, the home, the community and the world.
