Health and PE SMART Goals

9th Grade SMART Goal 2012-2013

Fitness Smart Goal: 85% of all 9th grade health/PE students will score within the Virginia Wellness target zone for each test by the end of the freshman year.

Knowledge Smart Goal: All 9th grade students will score at or above an 83% on the cumulative midterm and final exams. Units to include in health curriculum: personal health, disease prevention, ATOD, emotional health, injury and violence prevention). Units: CPR/AED training and common PE units. Students will complete a personal improvement plan in which they practice short and long term goal setting and apply the principles discussed in class to achieve a 4 out of 5 in the testing areas.

10th Grade SMART Goal 2012-2013

Fitness Smart Goal: 80% of all tenth grade physical education students will meet the Virginia Wellness Standard for aerobic capacity on the PACER by the end of their sophomore year by completing a minimum of four attempts, two each quarter.

Fitness Improvement SMART Goal: For those tenth grade students who do not meet the Virginia Wellness Standard for the aerobic capacity category they should improve 20% from the PACER pre-test in the first quarter of physical education to the PACER post-test in the second quarter of physical education.

Fitness Knowledge SMART Goal: On the physical education final exam the tenth grade students will achieve an 85% average by the end of their semester of physical education.
