Madison's Literary Magazine

      Heritage, Madison’s student-staffed literary-arts magazine, strives to produce a quality annual publication representing the student body’s creative works. We review all types of literature and art, and feature the best and most original in our magazine, which is distributed at the end of the year.

Heritage is now accepting submissions for its 2010 publication.

This year's contest theme is: RUMINATIONS.


Submission Guidelines

  • Art (including drawing, painting, photography, computer art, sculpture and ceramics)
  • Literature (we are now accepting all types, including poetry, fiction, nonfiction, essays and one act plays)

Art Submission Guidelines:

- Online submissions are preferred; send hi-res 300 DPI images to subs.litmag@gmail.com Hard copies can also be dropped off to Mr. Brown in Trailer 10.

- We accept any type of art: paintings, drawing, sculpture, computer graphics, photography, etc.

- When submitting your art, please include the following information attached with your entry:

  •  Title of submission
  •  Artist's name and grade
  •  Artist's third period teacher

- Please indicate whether you are submitting your piece as a general submission to the magazine or to the contest below. All pieces submitted for the contest must relate to this year’s theme, "Ruminations"


Literary Submission Guidelines

Email submissions are highly recommended.  

  • Online submissions are preferred; send word documents of NO MORE THAN 500 WORDS to subs.litmag@gmail.com. Hard copies can also be dropped off to Mr. Brown in Trailer 10.

  • All manuscripts should be double-spaced with the following information noted at the top:
  • title of the work,
  • the author’s name and grade,
  • the author’s third period teacher.
  •  Please indicate whether you are submitting your piece as a general submission to the magazine or for the contest. All pieces submitted to the contest must relate to this year’s theme, “Ruminations.
