Transcripts (not diplomas) are maintained at Madison High School for five years following a student's graduation. After five years, student records are transferred to the Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS) Records Office.
To Obtain Your Transcript from Madison High School
You may obtain your transcript from JMHS by providing the transcript assistant with the following information in writing:
- Name used while attending JMHS
- Date of birth
- Year you graduated
- Address you would like the transcript mailed to
- Your signature
Also, you could go to the JMHS website under guidance there is a transcript request form that should be filled out and mailed to James Madison High School.
There is a $5.00 charge for each transcript requested from JMHS. You may pay by cash, check, or money order. Payment can be made payable to James Madison High School.

You may obtain your transcript from FCPS by providing them with the following information in writing:
- Name used while attending Fairfax County Public Schools
- Name of school last attended
- Date of birth
- Year you graduated
- Address you would like the transcript mailed to
- Your signature
There is a $5.00 charge for each transcript requested from FCPS. You may pay by cash, check, or money order. Payment can be made payable to Fairfax County Public Schools.
