Fairfax County Public Schools provides numerous resources for parents as they work with their children in career and future planning. These online programs are available for JMHS students, free of charge. The school code and passwords are available in the Career Center. A site license has been purchased. 1. Family Connection is a comprehensive website that helps students make decisions about academic plans, colleges and careers. Family Connection also allows students to view college acceptance history from JMHS, and much, much more.
2. Virginia Vew (www.vaview.vt.edu) allows for exploration of colleges, careers and financial aid.
3. Kuder ® Career Planning System (va.kuder.com) is an online resource for career exploration, planning and development. This program combines interests, skills and work values assessments with occupational information sources online. These combinations allow individuals to create a focused academic plan and explore college options and occupations information online. You need to obtain the batch codes for this program which are available in the Career Center.
