"Letting Out the Wild (the Creative Spirit) in Acting Class" — A Tutorial
Students in the Grade 7 Multimedia Productions program recently participated in an intense, week-long Acting Workshop. Our goals were to:
- discover new ways to stimulate our creative thinking and creative expression (mind, voice, body)
- allow our inner spirit and passion to motivate and engage us
- demonstrate an array of effective communication skills which will work in a variety of situations
- believe that our ideas have meaning and can make an impact
- improve our self-confidence
In order to be unique and accomplished communicators, it is essential that we first learn how to "let out the wild" - the creative spirit - within us.
At the end of the workshop, the students were asked to interpret, analyze, and assess their participation in the week's activities, including how they met the project goals, by writing a "How To..." instructional guide, outlining success-oriented "let out the wild" strategies - useful in an acting class, and in our lives in general.
Several of these "How To Let Out The Wild" tutorials are posted here.
