Topic - Incorporating Music into a Video Project

Issue - Be creative with your choices of music!

Tiptoid -

How do you pick music to fit in with your home or school videos? My advice is to just stop thinking so hard. Don't be tense! Relax. Imagine anything in the world.

For example, you select music that is fast, and you think of people running. But, then start thinking! Creativity makes everything more unique and fun. I start to think about little elves running hastily trying to get all the presents wrapped in time.

Another example would be if you chose music that is quiet and mysterious. You first think about a magician who is pulling a rabbit out of a hat. But then, when you start getting creative, you think about a wizard flying on his broom, soaring away from the clutches of an evil sorcerer.

You can also look at your video images and think about music that would flow with your pictures. For example, if you have a video about a trip to an amusement park, then you would think about music that is fast, bright, and loud! But if you had video clips of a person about to open her door to her house to find out that everyone in her family is waiting for her because it's her surprise birthday party, then you should add music that's mysterious and quiet, with a loud crash to synchronize with the “surprise cheer.”

See how much more adventurous and fun thinking creatively can be? Okay, now go ahead, use your imagination, and make awesome videos your family and friends will love!

Please note: Copying music or video that doesn't belong to you is stealing. If you have any questions about the appropriateness or legality of what you are doing, please ask a parent, teacher, or your school librarian. Thank you.
