Issue - How to check for content accuracy
Tiptoid -
Last week my friend Shalma and I were surfing the internet, researching fish for our science project. We looked at numerous websites, including Wikipedia. Wikipedia is a multilingual, web-based, free content online encyclopedia where content can be changed by anyone.
Wikipedia has a lot of information on fish, but our school librarian told us that Wikipedia isn't always accurate. So we decided to use other sources to compare the information we found on Wikipedia .
After our project was finished, we wanted to find out more about the accuracy of Wikipedia . So, we asked our school librarian to explain to us how to find out how to determine the accuracy of Wikipedia entries. You should know this too! Here is how.
1. Go to Google and search for Web Evaluation. There are many choices of websites to click on, but you want to find a current website that has been recently updated.
2. Administrators who read the articles and monitor the accuracy of the contributions using the Recent Changes page, change incorrect information instantly. Therefore, the overall accuracy of the encyclopedia is fairly solid on a consistent basis.
3. You are encouraged to ensure that the information in Wikipedia is accurate by correcting articles, authorizing content, and providing useful references. Anyone can change the information. To learn now to edit a page on Wikipedia , see Tech Tip “How to Edit An Article in Wikipedia (Part 2).”
If you want to edit a page on Wikipedia , the administrators of the site check the Recent Changes page to check if the information that was added is efficient. See Wikipedia (Part 2)
You can become a member of Wikipedia by making an account, or ask your librarian for information.
Wikipedia is a resourceful website. The information constantly changes to keep it updated. But always make sure to use other resources to back up the information you found on Wikipedia.

Our Science teacher was impressed with the thoroughness of our project on fish. He also acknowledged that we were up-to-date with our information. We got an A. We hope you responsibly use Wikipedia, too.
