People love to shop, I know I do! People like to go to the mall, but they hate to stand in the long lines, especially around holiday season. So many people go to the website created by their favorite stores, and shop right from their homes.

I love the mall, but around holiday season it is a hassle to find gifts for my friends and family. So I have begun shopping online.

However, not all is safe online! We need to be alert to identity theft, and how to keep our credit card information safe.

Here are some credit card safety tips:

  1. Go to your favorite store's website
  2. Check on the home page to see if there is a closed padlock
  3. If you see that the padlock is closed, you are safe. If not, exit the site.
  4. Check the search bar for the letters https://. This means Hyper Text Transfer Protocol, Secured.

Consider shopping online, but if your favorite store's website is not secured, the mall awaits!
