Tiptoid -
Ariel and I were looking for a new game on the internet, so we asked our school librarian for some advice, and he told us about Second Life. Second life is an online multi-user, interactive, virtual environment. Ariel and I were excited, so we downloaded the software and created our accounts.
We enjoy navigating our avatars throughout the avatar world. We think you'll enjoy this program too!

Go to www.secondlife.com. On the bottom of the webpage, you'll see the word Downloads as the first option. Click on it, and install the program to the type of operating system you have on your computer. Wait for the installation to be completed!
Go back to the main home page of the website, and look at the top right-hand corner for the word Join. Click on it. Once the page has fully loaded, click on the big orange button that reads “free basic account.” Pick a name for your avatar, and then a password, which will allow you to log into the system.
You'll be required to enter your personal information into the system. Ask your parents before doing so!
Log back into the software you just downloaded, so that you can add your new account to its system.
Now you can work on constructing your own perfect avatar! See our Tech Tip “Second Life Online Video Game (Part 2)” for instructions.
There's so much to do with your new avatar in this very cool game. You can even chat online with other avatars! Ariel and I have enjoyed this fun, exciting and safe opportunity to interact online, and we hope you do too!
