Issue - How to create Magna Cartoon Stories

A Manga is a Japanese cartoon. Manga shows Japanese life and culture from feudal and modern times. Manga can be real or fictional. Manga characters hook you in to the storyline from the first cartoon frame. Manga is the comic book story; Japanese anime is the cartoon version of Manga. Manga is hugely popular.

Jake and I had an idea to make a new book for the Manga comic Fruit Basket. Fruit Basket is a story about a family who has many dark secrets, including the presence of a curse. The curse is -- when the characters are hugged by a member of the opposite sex, they turn into a member of the Chinese zodiac.

There some very important steps to create a Manga.

1. Determine the concept of your Manga.

2. Draw main and supporting characters.

3. Name all characters.

4. Create a script for the characters.

5. Draw your Manga cartoon by first creating your storyboard (the cartoon version).

6. Add scenery.

7. Proofread and edit your revisions.

Manga can be a fun, creative and exciting book to write. Your Japanese anime cartoon version of your Manga will appeal to lots and lots of people. So enjoy the Manga experience!

 

Glossary -

Storyboard – a set of sketches, arranged in sequence on panels, outlining the scenes that will make up something to be produced in another media format (e.g. a motion picture, television show, cartoon, advertisement, etc.)
