Will This Be the Next iPhone App? (2009-2010)

The advent of the Apple iPhone Apps Store has signaled a new source of innovative technology. Now, ANYONE with an idea and some technical programming know-how could become the next high tech entrepreneur. iPhone apps reflect a wide spectrum of topics and complexity and are available to consumers for purchase (iTunes) and download (priced from $0 to $50).

Following an historical review and hands-on exploration of the iPhone Apps phenomenon, students in the Grade 8 Advanced Multimedia Productions program were challenged to think of a new and unique idea, something of personal interest, which they believed could become the next iPhone application. They wrote a proposal that fit the criteria of a formal submission and drew the app's representative icon. With a focus on marketing skills and a concise writing style, several of these iPhone Apps succeeded in capturing our interest. They can be reviewed here by clicking on the thumbnails.
