Longfellow Middle School

Summer Enrichment Opportunities

The following is information about summer programs that the counseling department has received. We do not endorse these programs, but provide them to you as a possible enrichment opportunity for your child.

Longfellow will be offering a Summer Intervention program August 3rd – 21st.
The focus will be on acquiring literacy, practicing numeracy, and preparing students for the next academic school year. Transportation will be provided. The program times are 7:30 -11:30.

Parents will be receiving a letter from the Student Services office if their child will be required to attend. According to the Middle School Promotion Policy: “Students who earn an ‘F’ as a final grade in one or two core subjects are retained and encouraged to attend the summer program. Based upon the extent to which a student demonstrates knowledge and competency of identified standards of achievement in the summer program, he/she will be promoted or retained. Students who are promoted will receive continued intervention throughout the school year. If a student does not attend a summer program, they are retained at the discretion of the principal.  Students who earn an ‘F’ in three or four core courses will be retained.”
