Our GT Corner

The school based Gifted and Talented Program is designed to identify and meet the needs of students with potential for high levels of accomplishment. The GT resource teacher provides three levels of service. Level I is for all students and they are given the opportunity to develop critical and creative thinking skills through whole class GT lessons. Level II is for some students who need additional challenging opportunities. These extended learning enrichments are provided by the classroom teacher in collaboration with the GT resource teacher. The Young Scholars initiative is another component of Level II services. Level III provides identified highly able learners with learning opportunities that enrich and extend the POS and SOL curriculum. These students work directly with the GT resource teacher in addition to the classroom teacher.
