Maurie Negrin is the School Counselor at Little Run Elementary
School.  The School Counselor is a full-time professional who helps to ensure that every student at Little Run succeeds to their highest ability in school.  School counselors provide the following services to students, parents, and teachers. 

• Classroom Guidance – monthly lessons in every classroom addressing developmental topics such as bullying prevention, study and test taking skills, conflict resolution, etc.  

• Individual Counseling - when students are referred by themselves, a teacher, parent, or staff (with parental permission for extended counseling).

• Small Group Counseling –  addressing topics such as study skills, changing families, friendship and social skills ( with parental permission).

• Lunch Bunches - students invite friends to join them for a supervised lunch in the counselor's office.

• Parent Support - which includes parent conferences, referrals, parenting information, and workshops.

• Peer Mediation - a program where student peer mediators are trained to assist fellow students resolve minor conflicts in a confidential setting
