The Four Strands of the English Language Arts Program
Communication: Speaking, Listening and MediaLiteracy - Students experience a variety of speaking, listening, and viewing situations.
Reading and Vocabulary - Students read and apply strategies to understand/analyze a variety of literature. Students expand and enhance vocabulary through language and literature.
Writing - Students write in a variety of forms using the Six Traits of Writing.
Research - Students will use varied resources including technology to collect, synthesize, and evaluate information.
