Our beginner/intermediate orchestra did fabulously at the Orchestra Festival on Thursday March 19th and our advanced orchestra earned the festival’s highest performance award rating! Congratulations Ms. Lubinski and our wonderful and talented Liberty orchestra students!
Gillian Snell is Liberty's school winner for the National Geography Bee. She also took the written NGS test and qualified to participate in the state Geographic Bee which was held at Shenandoah University in April.
Liberty Middle School was awarded the WebStar Award by Fairfax County for an outstanding school website.
Jae Hyung Lim’s civics power-point project “Tinker v. Des Moines School District, 1969” was shown at an 8th grade assembly which featured Mary Beth Tinker, a plaintiff in the landmark Supreme Court case. The assembly was held May 26.
Camille Hodges, 8th grade civics teacher, achieved National Board certification in Early Adolescence/Social Studies-History in November, 2010. Standards are set by the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards.
