News At Lemon Road ES

This spring Lemon Road began its first season of Girls on the Run.  GOTR is a program that emphasizes health and self esteem. We set a goal to complete a 5K run, and we are proud to say that every girl met her goal. The coaches (Carla Maughlin and Debbie Chubb) and the entire Lemon Road community are extremely proud of our team!  GOTR is open to all girls from Grade 3 through Grade 6. A booster dose of Tdap (tetanus, diphtheria, acellular pertussis) vaccine is required for all students in the 6th grade, if at least five years have passed since the last dose of tetanus-containing vaccine. Complete immunization requirements are available. The Fairfax County Health Department will administer free Tdap vaccine to students needing to comply with new Virginia immunization requirements at any of their clinic sites. Hepatitis B vaccines will also be available for rising twelfth graders. Please note that an adult must accompany students and there is no charge for vaccines required for school. Bring your student's immunization records.

Report your child's absence by email. A folder named lres.attendance@fcps.edu has been linked to the school email account. When you know that your child will not attend school, please send a message to this folder. This will avoid being called to verify illness and will save the office staff from making many phone calls.
