Internet Resources for Students to Use at HomeThe sites listed here are valuable resources for students to use. Parent supervision is always advised. 2. Blackboard (24/7) is your immediate communication with teachers and school staff. Each grade level will maintain a folder that lists homework assignments, project details, classroom activities or fieldtrips and important messages. To access Blackboard open Internet Explorer and type the web address: http://fcps.blackboard.com Students and parents will login using the student identification number provided by the school. You may change the password to a more user friendly password. You will see classes in which your child has been enrolled. You will not see the classes of others. This feature makes Blackboard a very secure place to save and display classroom information. 3. Lemon Road ES school Homepage: http://www.fcps.edu/LemonRoadES 4. Note important Fairfax County Public School (http://www.fcps.edu) sites listed at the bottom of our homepages. 5. Grolier Online Encyclopedia for student research: http://go.grolier.com To use this site at home students must remember the password supplied by teachers. The "New Book" resource is intended for students reading at an elementary school level. Also look for Atlas, Dictionaries and graphics. 6. Thinkfinity, formerly Marco Polo, (http://thinkfinity.com) is an extensive website designed for use by students, parents and teachers. It includes resources across the curriculum. It suggests appropriate grade level use. This would be a good resource for parents wishing to support classroom study. You may ask classroom teachers for the needed password. |
